Materials and special finishes

JACOB Pipework Systems offers a large selection of materials and a large number of finishes to adapt our products to the requirements of our customers. Regardless of whether your pipework system needs a special color or special protection such as against corrosion - JACOB has a solution for almost every area of application.

Innovative powder coating

JACOB uses an ultra-modern, automated powder-coating system in order to ensure superior and uniform product quality. The advantages of our standard powder coating (similar to RAL 7032) are:

  • Electrostatically conductive
  • Its constituents comply with the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
  • Coating thickness on the outside: average layer thickness 55 µm
  • Coating thickness on the inside: optically covered as temporary corrosion protection
  • Optimum surface quality and long service life due to three-stage pretreatment
  • Temperature resistance: from -60°C to +120°C

3,000 special colours

JACOB can provide powder coatings on request in any colour from the wide RAL spectrum. In this case, the products are first coated with our standard RAL 7032 powder coating and then powder coated again in the colour of your choice. This creates a layer thickness of at least 80 µm. We also offer further special features on request. These include high-gloss effects.

Grinding or electrolytic polishing

At our customers’ request, we also offer electrolytic polishing or grinding of our stainless steel pipework.

High-grade materials, perfect workmanship: This is the basis for the particular quality of our products.

Pipework and press-formed components in mild steel

Mainly the following materials:

  • DD11 (1.0332) to DIN EN 10111
  • DD13 (1.0335) to DIN EN 10111
  • DC01 (1.0330) to DIN EN 10130

Pipework and press-formed components in stainless steel

Suitable for moderate to medium corrosive environmental conditions (CRC 2 to DIN EN 1993-1-4). Primarily for use in the food industry. Mainly the following materials:

  • 1.4301 (X5CrNi18-10), AISI 304, ASTM A240, A480, A 666
  • 1.4307 (X2CrNi18-9), AISI 304L, ASTM A240, A480, A 666

To restore the corrosion resistance and to create a uniform surface finish, these materials are stainless steel shotblasted as standard. Temperature-resistant to 300°C.

Available on request

Stainless steels for higher corrosive environmental conditions (CRC 3 to DIN EN 1993-1-4). Primarily for use in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry.

  • 1.4404 (X2CrNiMO17-12-2) AISI 316L, ASTM A 240
  • 1.4571 (X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2), AISI 316Ti, ASTM A 240

As standard, components are pickled in a bath and passivated by storing in the open air to restore their corrosion resistance. Prices and delivery time on request. Other materials that are not explicitly mentioned can also be offered after examining their processability.
